Microchipping

Microchipping - the kindest and easiest way of identifying your pet

Tony and Maureen have both been trained by Veterinary Surgeons and are properly qualified Microchippers. We undertook this training as we fully support the proposals put forward by the Kennel Club for every dog (and eventually every cat) to be identified by a microchip or tattoo.

It really is a great and efficient way of reuniting owners with lost dogs and also preventing the theft of your family pet.

Microchipping is an inexpensive, safe and kind way of protecting your dog (we are also qualified to microchip other small animals such as cats, ferrets and rabbits).

During the procedure, the dog or cat will not feel any more discomfort from a microchip implant than they would from a routine, conventional injection.  What's more, it can be done anywhere, avoiding the trauma that some dogs have when visiting the vet

Microchipping uses Radio Frequency (RFID) technology and cannot be tampered with, fade or be removed. The chip is deposited into the area between the shoulder blades.

Once a dog has been chipped, the dog is permanently identified for life.  You can then rest assured that, in the unfortunate event of your pet going missing, the full back up of Petlog will spring into action.

All of our dogs (including Benny - the cat who is convinced he is a Clumber Spaniel) are microchipped and registered with Petlog.

We occasionally breed a litter when we are looking for the next generation of Maursetts and, of course, any puppies bred by us are microchipped before they go to their new homes.
