23rd April 2007 - Clumber Spaniels: we had confirmation that "Pabel" (Maursett Moonen) proudly owned by Jacquelyn and Alex Risk, has qualified for the Obedience Finals at the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show in August - yes, you heard it right, "obedience" and "Clumber" in the same sentence! Talk about "Brains" and "Beauty"1st April 2007 - Clumber Spaniels: news of great success for the Maursett Mob at the Clumber Spaniel Club's Open Show. Riff Raff (Sh Ch Maursett Mindsapint) is awarded Best Veteran in Show and Crumble (Sh Ch Maursett Mildraed) wins the Brood Bitch class, bringing back the Trophy we donated to the club some years ago in memory of our own, very special, Raycroft Sheena of Belcrum. Riff completed his day's work with victory in the Stud Dog class, which (along with the Veteran classes), he seems to be making his own. Meanwhile, Maursett Mamile won Limit Bitch and went on to become Reserve Best Bitch in Show. Maursett Melusine ("Doris" to her friends) was second to her litter sister in the Puppy Bitch class - Maursett Moonen ("Pabel" is owned by Jacquelyn and Alex Risk); Doris then went on to win Maiden Bitch. Last, but certainly not least, Dave Smith's Maursett Medraut of Karikad won the Limit Dog class. Our latest German Wirehaired Pointer, four months old "Liesl" (Normbar Savannagh mit Maursett) - was entered at the show (Not for Competition) and thoroughly enjoyed her day out as an honorary Clumber!8th March 2007 - Clumber Spaniels: Crufts Championship Show sees Riff Raff (Sh Ch Maursett Mindsapint) win the Veteran Dog class as he continues to show his worth, in spite of approaching his 10th birthday!

Many who have visited the Maursett Mob over the years will have come across Juno, the cat. Juno was a rescue cat who came to us on the 50th anniversary of the D Day landings (hence her being named after the beach that was used so gallantly by Canadian forces in Normandy). Juno was a loveable cat, but she certainly knew how to "educate" the dogs (and one or two humans as well) to respect the feline population! We believe she was about 19 years old and suddenly deteriorated this morning; she died peacefully at the Vet's and Maureen and Tony were with her to the last. If there really is a Rainbow Bridge, we're sure the dogs will be moving on quickly! We will miss Juno.
