23rd October  2004 - Clumber Spaniels: Walter Lucas (Lubyrnetyre) judges the North of England Spaniel Club's Open Show and chose Sh Ch Maursett Mildraed as his Best of Breed.  He also awards the Junior & Special Yearling classes to Maursett Mamile.  Meanwhile, Tony was at the other end of the country (well, Shrewsbury to be precise), as one of a panel of 3 Judges,  along with Mr Frank Whyte (Kazval) and Mrs Suzanne Whittingham (Riccini), for a Match between the Spanish Water DogsIrish Water Spaniels and Curly Coated Retrievers ; some 48 dogs from the three breeds were represented and a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all.  Tony wishes to thank the Officers and Committee of the Curly Coated Retriever Club for inviting him to judge at this Match and the exhibitors for making it such a friendly and fun day. 
24th October  2004 - German Wirehaired Pointers: More success for one of the Sh Ch Normbar Coleen of Maursett's (Fizz) litter, as Maursett Meinrad helps to raise funds the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals at an event held by the Royal Veterinary College Animal Care Trust (in association with Hills Nutritional Foods).
Over £4,000 was raised on the day which saw Maursett Meinrad (pictured right) winning the prestigious "Dog with the Waggiest Tail" award.

7th October  2004 - Clumber Spaniels: Sad news as we have to report the passing of Myrtle (Maursett Mad Myrtle) at the age of 13 years.  Myrtle has been very influential in the Maursett lines, but more importantly was a delightful companion and a great family member, full of character and personality.  We will miss her.
6th October 2004 - German Wirehaired Pointers: Fizz's first litter make their debut in competitions.  Jeff & Barbara Abbishaw's Maursett Maganhildi competed at the AAA Match night in Washington and took Best Under 6th Months and then went on to take Best Puppy in match.  On the same night, Norma Ellis's Maursett Marelda competed in a match night at Newton Aycliffe and also went on to win the Under Six Month's of Age Puppy Walk.  Congratulations to Jeff, Barbara and Norma and well done to the pups on their successful debuts!
26th September  2004 - German Wirehaired Pointers: More Champagne moments for the Maursett Mob,  as breed specialist judge Mrs Barbara Pinkerton (Bareve) awards Fizz (who now delights us with the title Sh Ch Normbar Coleen of Maursett) that all important 3rd Challenge Certificate at the  Gundog Society of Wales Championship Show.  An extra special time for us as Fizz was making her return to the ring after producing her first litter on the 10th July 2004.  We are grateful to the judges who have held in her in such high regard. 
Today saw the Maursett Mob make up their second Show Champion in the space of 4 months (our Clumber, Sh Ch Maursett Mildraed gained her title on the 7th August 2004).  Clumber Spaniels: at the same show, Maursett Mamile continues her winning ways as she took the Junior and Novice bitch classes, judged by Mrs Hilda Monaghan (Tweedsmuir).
5th September  2004 - Clumber Spaniels: Tony judges the breed at the City of Birmingham Championship show and awards the CC & Best of Breed to Sh Ch Tweedsmuir Top Gunner JW, the Bitch CC to Sh Ch Heibax Sunrise Special at Antonine and Best Puppy to Tragus Jack Frost.  Tony thanks all the exhibitors for the excellent entry.
29th August  2004 - Clumber Spaniels: Crumble (Sh Ch Maursett Mildraed) wins Best of Breed at North Riding Gundog Club's Open Show (Judge Mr David Shields). Our youngster, Maursett Mamile won the Junior Clumber Spaniel class at the same show.
20th August  2004 - we regret to announce the death of Margie (Sh Ch Maursett Marguerite).  Margie was very special,  much loved and will be missed.
7th August  2004 - Clumber Spaniels:  A third, and all important, CC for Crumble (Sh Ch Maursett Mildraed) as she gaines her title at National Gundog Championship Show (Judge: Mrs Gina Bowers).  Many thanks to the three breed specialists who have thought so highly of her to award her this honour.
10th July 2004 - German Wirehaired Pointers:  Fizz (Normbar Coleen of Maursett) produces her first litter of 10 puppies (sire - Sh Ch Hastabbi Greylag) - click here to view some photographs of this litter.
30th May 2004 - Tony judges German Wirehaired Pointers, German Shorthaired Pointers (Best of Breed - Lodge's Isara Kurzhaar Backbencher at Ponsonby) and Basset Hounds (Best of Breed Storton's Dereheath Coral) at Edwinstowe & District Canine Society's Open Show.  Maureen judged the Gundog Group and several other breeds at the same show -  Tony's choice for Best of Breed German Wirehaired Pointer, Pinkertons Bareve Bantu JW, won the Gundog Group and then went on to claim  Best in Show under Mr John Thirlwell.
06 May 2004 - Clumber Spaniels: Crumble (Maursett Mildraed) takes Bitch CC (her second) and Best Opposite Sex at the Birmingham National Championship Show; Maursett Mamile won Puppy Bitch at the same show (Judge Miss Michelle Meredith -  Andchelle).  German Wirehaired Pointers: Fizz (Normbar Coleen of Maursett) wins Limit Bitch (Judge Mrs S J Harris).
11th April 2004 - Clumber Spaniels: Crumble (Maursett Mildraed) takes Reserve Best Bitch in Show at the Clumber Spaniel Club Open Show;  Maursett Mamile won Puppy Bitch and Maiden Bitch classes and took the Best Puppy Bitch in Show award at the same show under Judge Mr John Wardle.
5th March 2004 - CRUFTS - German Wirehaired Pointers: Fizz (Normbar Coleen of Maursett) wins Limit Bitch and then takes the Bitch Challenge Certificate (her second) and Best Opposite Sex under breed specialist judge Mrs Ruth Martin (Sunhouse).
1st March 2004 - We are saddened to announce the passing of Megan (Sh Ch Andchelle My Fair Lady from Maursett) at the age of 15½ years.  Megan had enjoyed a long and relaxing retirement from the show ring.  We will miss her terribly.
22nd February 2004 - Tony judges German Wirehaired Pointers and Field Spaniels at the Yorkshire Gundog Club Open Show.  He awards Best of Breed GWP to McKenna's Amicaro Apache at Carrmyers and Best Puppy GWP to Clarke's Gavic Back to Back.  Tony is also grateful for a wonderful entry of 15 Field Spaniels - he awarded Best of Breed to Wood's Carinyssader Ascendant at Sagala and Best Puppy in breed to Harrison's Tumblebar Evening Edition for Imachar.  Our daughter, Desme, judged Clumbers at the same show and awarded Best of Breed to Underwood's Eilandon Nevis.
18th January 2004 -  Clumbers:  Another year starts in style as Maursett Mildraed wins Limit Bitch and goes on to take the Bitch CC at Manchester Championship show, under breed specialist judge Mr Ron Hibbs.  Our youngster, Maursett Mamile, also wins the Minor Puppy Bitch class at the same show.
4th January 2004 -  Basset Hounds: Nora B (Barembak Martini at Maursett) wins Best of Breed Basset Hound at Billingham Synthonia's Open Show awarded by  Judge - Mrs M Caney (Springpine).  Clumbers:  Our new youngster, Maursett Mamile, takes Best Puppy in Breed Clumber Spaniel at same show under Judge Mr Gordon Sutherland (Eilandon).
