14th December 2003 - Nora B (Barembak Martini at Maursett) wins the Open Basset Hound class and our newcomer, Maursett Mamile, takes Best Puppy in Breed Clumber Spaniel at the Newton Aycliffe Show.

7th December 2003 - Basset Hounds: Nora B (Barembak Martini at Maursett) wins Junior & Post Graduate Basset Hound and goes on to take Best of Breed at the Border Counties Hound Ruby Anniversary Open Show (Judge Mr Brian Foster).

12th September 2003 - Basset Hounds: Nora B (Barembak Martini at Maursett) wins Post Graduate Bitch at Darlington Championship Show under breed specialist judge Mr Tony Coddington.

17th August 2003 - Congratulations to Walter and Jane Lucas, whose Eilandon Glencoe at Lubyrnetyre (a son of Sh Ch Maursett Mindsapint) took the Reserve CC at Welsh Kennel Club (Judge Mrs S Thomas).

2nd August 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: Maursett Mildraed (Crumble) wins Graduate and Post Graduate Bitch and takes the Reserve CC at the National Gundog Championship Show under breed specialist judge Mr Michael McKay.

27th July 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: Maursett Mildraed (Crumble) wins Post Graduate Bitch at Leeds Championship Show.

11th July 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: Maursett Mildraed (Crumble) wins Post Graduate and takes the Reserve Challenge Certificate under Mr Frank Kane at the South Wales Kennel Association Championship Show.

22nd June 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: Maursett Mildraed (Crumble) is awarded Best of Breed at the North of England Spaniel Club Open Show (Judge Ms C Hicks - Cherumble).  Walter and Jane Lucas' Eilandon Glencoe at Lubyrnetyre (a son of Sh Ch Maursett Mindsapint) takes the Best Puppy in Show award at the same show (Judge Miss Gill Averis - Sireva).

21st June 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: Maursett Mildraed (Crumble) wins Post Graduate Bitch at Blackpool Championship Show under breed judge Ms Jan Linley.   

7th June 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: Maursett Mildraed (Crumble) is awarded Gundog Group 2 at the Darlington & District Limited Show.  Basset Hounds:  Barembak Martini at Maursett (Nora B) wins the Hound Puppy Group at the same show.   

31st May 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: Maursett Morveena (Veena) has given birth to 6 puppies (4 girls and 2 boys) to add to the Maursett Gang.  The litter was sired by Marchlands Blue Murder.  For photographs of the litter, please click here.

25th May 2003 - Clumber Spaniels:  more good news of "Maursett Offspring" as Walter and Jane Lucas see their Eilandon Glencoe at Lubyrnetyre (a son of Sh Ch Maursett Mindsapint) win 1st in Junior, Best Puppy in Breed and Reserve Best of Breed under judge Irene Butler at the North Riding Gundog Club's Open Show.  He later went on to take 3rd place in the line up for Best Puppy in Show under Mr J Sheridan.

5th May 2003 - German Wirehaired Pointers: our congratulations go to Norma Ellis, whose Sh Ch Normbar Valhalle wins his 23rd CC to become the Breed Record Holder (Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show).  He went on to take 4th place in the Gundog Group.  Sh Ch Normbar Valhalle is a great Grandson of our own Lynsett Alfons at Maursett whose progeny  have made a major contribution to the breed.

5th May 2003 - German Wirehaired Pointers: Maureen judges GWPs at the National Dog Championship Show at Stafford.  She awards the Dog CC and Best of Breed to Ellis's Sh Ch Normbar Valhalle (Reserve Dog CC going to Pinkertons' Bareve Bantu JW);  Maureen gave the Bitch CC to McCullough's Ch Kimmax Kwite A Kutie (Reserve Bitch CC & Best Puppy in Breed going to Pinkertons' Bareve Bolula).  Maureen would like to thank all the exhibitors for the excellent entry.

5th May 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: Crumble (Maursett Mildraed) wins Best of Breed at the Border Counties Gundog Club Open Show and is shortlisted for Best in Show.  German Wirehaired Pointers:  Fizz (Normbar Coleen of Maursett) takes Best of Breed at the same show.  

27th April 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: Crumble (Maursett Mildraed) wins the Reserve CC at WELKS Championship Show from breed specialist judge Michelle Meredith (Andchelle).  

27th April 2003 - German Wirehaired Pointers: Tony judges GWPs at the Wigan & District Canine Society Open Show and awards Best of Breed to Friar's Bareve Baloo for Sashal. 

24th April 2003 - Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria: our Basset Hound, Nora B, (Barembak Martini at Maursett) cunningly masquerades as a Golden Retriever to take Best Puppy in Match at the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria Match Night.

18th April 2003 - Basset Hounds: Nora B (Barembak Martini at Maursett) takes Best Puppy and Best of Breed at the Prudhoe & District Canine Society Open Show (Judge Mr M Virgo - Sumahari).

13th April 2003 - Clumber Spaniels: unfortunately, we were unable to show at the Clumber Spaniel Club Open Show as our ladies had decided to come into season.  Nevertheless, we were very pleased to see Walter and Jane Lucas' Eilandon Glencoe at Lubyrnetyre (a son of Sh Ch Maursett Mindsapint) win the Minor Puppy dog class and Best Minor Puppy at the show.

5th April 2003 - German Wirehaired Pointers: Fizz (Normbar Coleen of Maursett) takes Best of Breed GWP at the North of England HPR Club Open Show (Judge: Mr J N Newton).

16th March 2003 - Basset Hounds: Barembak Martini at Maursett takes yet another Best Puppy in Breed at the Newton Aycliffe & District Canine Society Open Show. Clumber Spaniels:  we were delighted for Walter and Jane Lucas who went Best Puppy in Breed and 4th in the Gundog Puppy Group with their Eilandon Glencoe at Lubyrnetyre (a son of Sh Ch Maursett Mindsapint) on his first show outing!

14th March 2003 - Clumber Spaniels:  great news of North American descendants of the Maursett lines.  Pat & Linda Fraser tell us that AmCdn CH Jet Set's Deke Slayton WD JH SH MH, North America's First Male Master Hunter is off to his Veteran's entry at CSCA National, along with his son AmCdn CH Fly Aay Corey's John Glenn CGC WDX JH SH MH in Hunting Dog.  We congratulate them on their fabulous achievements to date and wish them every success at the National.

23rd February 2003 - Basset Hounds: Barembak Martini at Maursett (Nora B) wins Best Puppy in Breed and takes 4th Place in the Hound Puppy Group at the Easington & Peterlee Open Show.

1st February 2003 - Basset Hounds: Barembak Martini at Maursett (Nora B) takes Best Puppy in Breed at the Darlington Canine Society's Open Show on her first outing at just 6 months of age.

18 January 2003 - Clumber Spaniels:  Maursett Mildraed (Crumble), in her first adult outing,  takes Best of Breed at the Northern Counties Gundog Club's Open Show (Judge: Mrs Ewan - Craigdean).  She went on to be shortlisted by Best in Show judge Mrs E Howarth (Moorbrook). 

5 January 2003 - Tony judges Cocker Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels and German Wirehaired Pointers at the Billingham Synthonia Canine Club's Open Show.  Tony thanks the exhibitors who braved the freezing weather conditions to attend the show.  He awarded Best of Breed Cocker Spaniel to Gibson's Meldyke Mantilla; Best of Breed English Springer Spaniel went to McBeth's Maclaurien Magic Maker, their Teesview Tamarix to Maclaurien taking the Best Puppy in Breed award.  Tony awarded Best of Breed German Wirehaired Pointer (the biggest breed class of the day) to Paul and Gloria Robinson's Gavic Hot Shot (also Best Puppy).  Julie and Nigel Lee's Amicaro Arapaho took 2nd in GWP Open, followed closely by Ronnie & Vera McKenna's Amicaro Apache at Carrmyers.
